Sr. Linux System Engineer

Essential Functions:
Join our engineering team working on new Linux applications and enhancing Linux
performance of embedded devices. This requires a solid understanding of Linux kernel, Linux booting, C and assembly language programming at the kernel level and device drivers. Build, test, and debug kernel code
modification. Analyze kernel boot and system performance, characterize and identify root cause of boot and system performance problems. Design and code solutions to resolve boot and system performance issues.
Participation on cross functional product teams.
Preferred Knowledge:
Linux kernel development including the following kernel subsystems: Kernel firmware interface subsystems, Device Drivers
bootstrapping, virtual memory architecture, kernel synchronization principles, and familiarity with performance benchmark fundamentals. Ability to build, test, debug, and improve the performance of Linux kernels.
Required Knowledge:
Working experience in Linux Kernel internals Low level kernel debugging experience Familiarity with the Linux Boot process Familiarity with firmware services required for booting, memory initialization and system operation Familiarity with Linux interfaces as they pertain to device bootstrapping, initialization and operation
